Meet the Founders
Meet David and Allegra; a dating app success story turned founders of a business built to fix their own wedding day frustrations.
Before the birth of their first child, David and Allegra wanted to get legally hitched, but the Sydney registry office left a lot to be desired. They ended up marrying in a small ceremony at a local restaurant and despite the joy of that day - were left feeling like there had to be a better way.
Flash forward a couple of years and a couple of babies, and The Courthouse Registry is finally here.
Drawing on Allegra’s experience in weddings (as Celebrant, MC and Wedding Planner to over 450 couples), and Dave’s propensity to agree to all her wild and wonderful plans, David and Allegra are delighted to deliver the piece of the wedding puzzle that has been missing for years - a chic, timeless, elegant registry office bringing the NYC Elopement vibes to Australia.

The Courthouse Registry is located within the heritage St James Trust Building - across the road from Hyde Park and moments from the iconic Sydney Harbour.
The Registry room itself blends functionality with beauty - parquetry floors, elegant wall paneling, draped curtains and marble plinths. In a nod to an age-old wedding tradition, our custom made chairs are your ‘something blue’.
For couples looking to take photographs following their ceremony, our location was handpicked to offer you the best possible backdrop. Sydney’s beautiful historic sandstone buildings, the soaring beauty of the fountain and gardens of Hyde Park, and the sparkling magic of Sydney Harbour are all within easy walking distance.
